Gogar Hall built

Over the past 15 years, College has fundraised for a range of facilities for Gogar Primary School, Kenya.

Last year’s whole school charity focus was fundraising to build a school hall for Gogar.  Mufti days, Christmas feasts and charity Rugby and Netball matches were organised and monies collected, but the great fundraising drive centred on a whole school walk around Leckhampton Hill. The aim was that the College community would collectively walk the distance from Cheltenham to Gogar.

Unfortunately, weeks of non-stop rain and then school closure meant that the walks had to be cancelled- twice!  However, this did not stop Cheltonians completing the walk from their homes during lockdown; wherever they were in the world, our pupils walked or cycled to complete their ‘mini-migration’. They did so wearing the T-shirts which had been kindly donated by our sponsor Castellum Design and Build. Building work on the new school hall got underway quickly over the summer and we were delighted to receive news that the first phase of the build has been completed and is open for business! Huge thanks go to all those in our community who fundraised, donated and supported this endevour.

Special thanks must also be extended to Vanessa Grant Trust’s Mr Johnny Onslow and to the tremendous generosity of Castellum Design and Build.
