Music Dinner 2026

Pupils, staff and families came together to celebrate another successful year of music at Cheltenham College.

On Saturday 20 June around 80 pupils, staff and family members gathered in the College Dining Hall for the annual Music Dinner, celebrating another successful year of music-making.

The evening began with a drinks reception and canapés before guests enjoyed a programme of performances from the Upper Sixth A Level Music a cappella group Fourtissimo, Upper Sixth singers, and the staff boy band Best+Life, who reunited for a special rendition of My Love by Westlife.

Following dinner, speeches reflected on the many musical highlights of the year before the evening concluded with a lively game of Jeopardy. Congratulations to the Upper Sixth table, who claimed the winning title.

The occasion also marked the departure of Mrs Alex Smith, who has sung first soprano in the College Choirs for the past seven years, and Mr Shaun Pirttijarvi, Director of Music, who leaves Cheltenham College to take up the role of Whole School Director of Music at Brighton College Bangkok Vibhavadi. We thank them both for their outstanding contributions to the College community and wish them every success in the future.
