Rosslyn Park Success for College Rugby
All three Cheltenham College teams reached the Cup knockout stages in a remarkable national performance.
Cheltenham College enjoyed an exceptional performance at the Rosslyn Park National Schools Sevens, with the U14, U16 and U18 teams all reaching the Cup knockout stages in one of the most competitive school rugby tournaments in the country.
The U14s produced a remarkable run to the semi-finals, finishing in the final four out of 242 schools after nine matches across two days. Their campaign included an impressive quarter-final victory over St Paul’s before eventually being edged out by Millfield.
The U16s also impressed, reaching the quarter-finals for the first time in over 10 years. After strong performances across both days, they narrowly lost to Brighton College in a thrilling contest, finishing in the final eight from a field of 260 schools.
The U18s continued their outstanding season by reaching the second day of the elite Cup competition for the first time. Victories over Millfield and Barnard Castle highlighted their quality, with the squad finishing among the top 10 schools in the country.
Cheltenham College was the only school at Rosslyn Park this year to have all three teams reach the Cup knockout stages, underlining the strength of the Rugby programme and the commitment of both pupils and coaches.
Across the season, all three teams have played 57 matches, losing just seven — a fantastic achievement for College Rugby.
