Sixth Form Results 2026

College pupils are celebrating an excellent set of Sixth Form results, with pupils achieving strong grades and securing places at leading universities in the UK and around the world.

This year, 50% of all grades were awarded at A or A*, with 19% of grades awarded at A*. 77% of all grades were graded A* to B, while 25% of pupils achieved all A* and A grades, reflecting the hard work, ambition and commitment of pupils, supported by their teachers and families.

The results have opened the door to a wide range of exciting opportunities. Four pupils have secured places at Oxford or Cambridge, while a further four pupils have secured places to study Medicine, Dentistry or Veterinary Medicine.

Head, Chris Townsend, said: “I am so proud of the achievements of all of our pupils, which reflect their hard work, the help from their teachers and the support that their parents have provided. We wish them every success as they move on from Cheltenham College and believe that they are well prepared for the next stage in their lives.”

The breadth of destinations this year reflects the wide range of ambitions among Cheltenham College pupils, with around 70% securing places at Russell Group universities, as well as the Universities of Bath and St Andrews. Pupils will be heading to universities including Exeter, Cardiff, Durham, Manchester, Newcastle, Bristol and UCL, alongside a wide range of other leading institutions.

There has also been strong interest in international higher education. Thirty pupils applied to universities overseas, with offers received from institutions in the USA, Canada, Europe, China and Australia. Collectively, pupils have received 19 scholarship offers from overseas universities, providing exciting opportunities to continue their studies internationally.

We wish all of our Year 13 leavers every success as they take their next steps beyond Cheltenham College.

With a choice of more than 30 qualifications, including A Levels, BTECs and CTECs, Cheltenham College Sixth Form provides pupils with the opportunity to explore their academic interests and pursue their individual goals.
