Tour de Chandos 2022

On Sunday 9 January, the girls of Chandos Boarding House collectively cycled the length of the United Kingdom; from Lizard Point in Cornwall to John O Groats on the tip Scotland – ‘The Tour de Chandos’.

Each year, all of the 11 Boarding and Day Houses at College nominate their House charities. Pupils raise funds throughout the year for a range of good causes. For the 2021/2022 year, Chandos’ chosen charity is ‘Gloucestershire Rape and Sexual Abuse Centre’, which offers practical and emotional support, in complete confidence, for women and girls who have experienced rape, sexual assault or sexual abuse. Their objective is to empower women to find their own way of living for a future unconnected to their traumatic past.

The Tour de Chandos included all of the girls cycling approximately 15km each on static bikes, contributing to the grand total of 1,340km. The girls have so far raised nearly £1,600 for the charity.
