Year 8 Oil Painting Workshop

Year 8 pupils explored oil painting techniques during a workshop with professional artist Francesca Currie RBSA.

Year 8 pupils and 13+ Art Scholars at Cheltenham Prep enjoyed an inspiring oil painting workshop led by professional artist Francesca Currie RBSA.

Working on large canvases with professional-quality materials, pupils learnt how to use water-soluble oil paints, mix colours and create texture using a variety of techniques and tools. Guided by Francesca, they painted striking sunset landscapes while developing their confidence and technical skills.

The workshop gave pupils the opportunity to learn from a practising artist and experience working with materials beyond those typically used in the classroom. The finished paintings were a wonderful reflection of their creativity, focus and artistic talent.
