Cheltenham Literature Festival
Pupils enjoy inspiring author sessions and creative storytelling
This week, pupils from Year 1 to Year 7 enjoyed a series of exciting and imaginative sessions at the Cheltenham Literature Festival.
Our youngest pupils, Year 1 and Year 2, met David O’Connell for his Beastie Bros talk, discovering how tiny minibeasts from his garden become playful, funny characters like Dribble the snail and Dash the firefly.
Year 3 joined Kieran Larwood for a puzzle-filled storytelling session, exploring characters, adventure, and problem-solving through games and collaborative thinking.
Year 4 met Cressida Cowell for Drawing Dragons, learning how to bring creatures to life with personality and creativity, while Year 5 discovered the magical world of Pari Thomson’s Greenwild, inspired to look closely at nature and imagine new stories.
Our older pupils also had a magical experience: Year 6 explored world-building and hero quests with Ross Montgomery’s Small Wonder, and Year 7 enjoyed Jennifer Killick’s Serial Chillers, learning how to combine suspense, humour, and spooky twists in storytelling.
A wonderful week celebrating creativity, imagination, and the joy of stories for all our pupils.
