Higher Level Teaching Assistant
For November 2025, Cheltenham Prep seeks to appoint a well-qualified and enthusiastic person who will provide support in English lessons in the role of Higher-Level Teaching Assistant. The individual will engage and motivate pupils to reach their full potential, developing the independence, love of learning and maturity required to thrive in an outstanding school. A clear passion for supporting children of this age range is essential and will, in turn, be evident in the classroom and through 1:1 and small group interventions.
Working within the English Department with a supportive and experienced team, the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the dedication to provide outstanding pastoral care and support as a teaching assistant.
The successful candidate will be hardworking, creative, forward thinking and proficient in resourcing activities for interventions and small group support, while working in consultation with teachers within the department. There will also be times when there is an expectation for the Teaching Assistant to help cover the class for small periods of time.
Hours of work are expected to be 20 hours per week and the exact working pattern can be discussed at interview.
