In-house Lettings Assistant (Venue Hire & Events)

Date Posted: Wednesday 08 May 2024

Vacancy Type: Full-Time

Closing date for application: 20/05/2024

Cheltenham College seeks a strong administrator to join the Lettings Team in the role of Lettings Assistant, a role which, among other things, supports site and event management for internal and external events. Reporting to the Senior Lettings and Operations Co-ordinator, this role encompasses a variety of duties that combines desk-based activities with phone and face-to-face communication with staff, pupils, parents and external agencies.

Cheltenham College’s Lettings & Events Department oversees in-house and private functions as well as venue hire. With historic buildings and superb architecture, Cheltenham College provides space for events ranging from lectures to lunches, christenings to charity dinners and weddings, as well as Summer Camps and Summer Schools during the College’s school holidays when many of the buildings and boarding houses are not in use.

As a member of a small but vital support team, the post-holder will approach their role with a can-do attitude, flexibility and a general willingness to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the Lettings and Events Department. Over time, and with the support of the Department, the post-holder will take the lead on the organisation and delivery of certain events.

  • Regular hours of work: 37.5 hours per week. College’s core business hours are 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday, however, there is flexibility as to the exact working pattern (start/end time within that range)
  • Irregular hours of work: Because of the nature of an events role, hours of work will, from time-to-time, fall outside of the regular pattern of work and we would require somebody who has the flexibility to work a late shift on occasion to help with events. When required, time off in lieu or paid overtime will be agreed.
  • Salary range starting at: £22,308 per annum

Full details of the role can be found in the job description.
