Cheltenham College Preparatory School seeks to appoint a well-qualified and enthusiastic person to take on the role of a Year 3 or 4 Teaching Assistant from September 2024. The individual will engage and motivate pupils to reach their full potential, developing the independence, love of learning and maturity required to thrive in an outstanding school. A clear passion for supporting children of this age range is essential and will, in turn, be evident in the classroom and through 1:1 and small group interventions.

Working within the Lower School Department with a supportive and experienced team, the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the dedication to provide outstanding pastoral care and support as a teaching assistant. The successful candidate will be hardworking, creative, forward thinking and proficient in resourcing activities for interventions and small group support, while working in consultation with teachers within the year group and the Head of Section. All teaching assistants support a class teacher and lead 1:1 and small group interventions, therefore playing an active and significant role in the development and improvement of the department and the academic and pastoral provision for the pupils.

    Hours of work will be part time (16 hours and 15 minutes per week) 08.00-11.05 for three days and 08.00-11.30 for two days, equating to 16 hours and 15 minutes (with some break duties) per week (Monday to Friday, Term Time only).
