Day Matrons (Pastoral Assistants)

In conjunction with the Housemaster/Housemistress and other House staff, Matrons are responsible for the general welfare of the pupils within our day and boarding houses. This includes providing pastoral, medical and domestic support.

Required to provided ad-hoc cover in our Boarding Houses, Cheltenham College is seeking to recruit a number of Bank Matrons who can step in at short notice to provide additional cover in times of staff absence. Full training and shadowing will be given and cover will be required in both boys and girls boarding houses. The role of Matron is an important and highly rewarding position, requiring dedication and commitment; providing first-class pastoral support to boarders within thriving boarding houses.

Hours of work: Varied

Salary: Based on £11.97 per hour worked, plus accrued holiday pay of £1.44 per hour.

Applicants should be organised, with a flexible and willing attitude, excellent interpersonal skills and an aptitude for dealing with young people in a close environment.
