We seek to appoint a Portering and Security Officer. Post-holders will undertake a variety of vital roles for College, setting up rooms for events, the day-to-day physical security of the site, minor emergency maintenance/repair tasks, initial first aid and for the coordination of security and fire alarms and services.

Hours: The rota operates on a six-week basis with an average of 40-hours week over the six-week period. Working shifts are Monday to Sunday and there are 3 core shift patterns (of 8.5 hours each) as follows: 0600-1430, 0930-1800 & 1400-2230 and these shifts will be scheduled on a rota basis. Please refer to the rota document and the job description for the available working patterns, though do note, weekly rotas are subject to change from time to time.

The salary: Starting salary will be £23,795.20 per annum moving to £24,523.30 per annum after passing on-the-job training and probation.

Night Shifts: Portering and Security Officers work up to 11-night shifts per year to cover the annual leave of the Night Security Officers. When covering Night Security shifts a rate of between £14.75 to £15.25 per hour (depending on training level) will be paid for each hour worked between the hours of 8pm to 6:30am.

A full clean driving licence is required and experience of working in a school would be desirable.
