Rowing Coaches (Zero Hours)

Date Posted: Friday 09 December 2022

Vacancy Type: Full-Time

Closing date for application: 02/01/2023

Cheltenham College is looking to recruit a number of new Rowing Coaches ahead of the start of the Rowing Season in January.

Applicants should have strong experience in rowing or in coaching rowing and they will be responsible for coaching a group within the squad to a high standard.

It would be advantageous if candidates had RYA Powerboat Level 2 or be willing to do on-the-job training in order to gain it. British Rowing Coach Level 2 and Minibus License would also be desirable but are not essential.

Although this is a zero-hours role, Rowing Coaches work approximately 10 hours per week during term time and normal working days are Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, with a mix of land training at College and water training at Tewkesbury. Additional rowing sessions do occasionally take place on other days.

Rowing’s main season at College is in the Spring and Summer Terms (January until July), but it is also on offer for some pupils during all 3 terms, though your main period of work is likely to be in the main season.

Salary: Hourly rate will be dependent upon coaching level and experience, but is likely to start at £18.00 per hour (plus accrued holiday pay).

Prior to applying, if you would like to discuss any preliminary questions you might have, please email the Head of Rowing, Jed Greenhouse at: j.greenhouse@cheltenhamcollege.org
