Joining in Year 7

Join in Year 7 at Cheltenham Prep School, where adventure builds confidence. Move seamlessly into Year 9 at College, where ambition takes you forward.

At Cheltenham Prep School, pupils enjoy a close-knit, nurturing community where they are encouraged to explore widely, take risks safely, and develop the self-belief they will carry for life. This is their ‘adventure’ – full of curiosity, discovery, and finding who they are.

As they join College in Year 9, that sense of adventure naturally evolves into ambition. Having already built strong academic foundations, a sense of independence and confidence, the move to College is done with confidence and a sense of familiarity. They step onto the larger stage prepared, assured, and ready to be part of the wider school community.

Choosing to join in Year 7 is more than securing a place – it is securing a pathway.
A pathway that begins with Excitement & Adventure leads Beyond & Above.

Academic Excellence

Pupils at Cheltenham College consistently perform Beyond & Above their own and their parents’ expectations across all areas of the curriculum, including the GCSE and Sixth Form exam results. In 2025, 60% of all GCSEs were marked at Grade 7 or above; and 82% of pupils accomplished Grades A*-B in 2025 A Levels. College offers 21 GCSE subjects and 30 qualifications at Sixth Form including BTECs and CTechs.
